AUBURN, Ala. – The University of West Florida Swim and Dive team travelled to Auburn on Friday afternoon to compete in a dual meet against Division I Auburn University. The Argos fell to the Tigers, 145.5-85.5, but still made an impact and made several NCAA B cuts.
Sofia Kendzior had a great meet and made two NCAA B cuts. She placed second in the 200 Free, with a time of 1:49.75. Kendzior then finished in second in the 500 Free, with a time of 5:02.60.
Agata Naskret made her first NCAA B cut as an Argo in the 100 Back, with a time of 54.46. She came in a close second.
Haylee Hite came in third with a time of 57.67.
Alena Rozova also had a NCAA B cut. Rozova tied for first place in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:01.67.
Hollace Stokes finished behind Rozova with a time of 1:04.66.
Freshman
Kiersten Munna finished in second place in the 100 Free, with a time of 53.28.
Livia Rodrigues had a strong 100 Fly and finished in second with a time of 56.66.
"We swam very well today," Head coach
Phil Kraus said. "Overall, I am very happy with our performance today."
In the diving well,
Olivia Nelson made an impact in both 1 Meter and 3 Meter dives. She came in second in both. In the 1 Meter, Nelson scored 251.48 and in the 3 Meter she scored 255.30.
Freshman
Katie Murphy continues to prove herself in the diving well. She came in third, right behind Nelson, in both events. Murphy scored a 232.80 in the 1 Meter and 233.33 in the 3 Meter.
The Argos travel to Tallahassee, Fla. on Oct. 24 to compete in the FSU Directional and then to Thomasville, Ga. the next day to face Thomas (Ga.) and Ave Maria.
