MEMPHIS, Tenn. - UWF women's tennis (2-1, 2-0 GSC) earned its first road win of the season, as well as its second GSC and DII win, with a 6-1 result over Christian Brothers (2-2, 0-1 GSC). The Argos improve to 18-0 all-time against the Lady Bucs.
 
The Argos cinched up the doubles point early as Aline Midori Da Silva and Guadalupe Martinez swept Raheen Taranum and Valerie Neumann 6-0 on court two before Alberte Joergensen and Giuliana Sacco took one game longer to win their matchup on court three 6-1 over Fernanda Garcia and Neha Dandu.
 
Martinez finished off a 2-0 day as she easily dispatched Lucia Lucas at No. 2 doubles 6-0, 6-1. Luiza Daud finished off Garcia on court six shortly after 6-0, 6-2. The next two frames continued the trend of 6-0 first frames and one added point by CBU in the second as Sacco won 6-0, 6-3 on court five over Dandu and Sandra Recuenco won her matchup 6-0, 6-4 at the top of the lineup against Sofia Zemstova. With the win sealed thanks to the 5-0 lead, Joergensen also went 2-0 as she took down Taranum 6-4, 6-1 on court three. The Lady Bucs ended it by scratching one point back with a 6-4, 6-2 win by Neumann over Manuela Dejean.
 
The Argos will play a rescheduled match against No. 18 Southern Arkansas tomorrow morning at 10 am in Memphis before continuing GSC play at Delta State on Wednesday.
