PENSACOLA, Fla. — West Florida (19-6, 8-4 GSC) secured a 3-1 victory over the University of Alabama Huntsville (21-10, 7-5 GSC) on Saturday at the UWF Softball Complex. Haley Guffey pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run while striking out three. 
 
Individual Highlights:
 
Haley Guffey (13-1) delivered a strong performance on the mound, pitching a complete game. She allowed only five hits and one earned run while issuing just one walk. Guffey struck out three batters and maintained a low WHIP of 0.86. She continues to have the best record in the GSC and Her 2.52 ERA is now top 10 in the GSC.
 
Bella Holliday contributed all around defensively at catcher and offensively, earning a run, a hit, and an RBI. She also draw a walk and executed a sacrifice hit. 
 
Meg Fountain recorded a hit, a run, and a walk in the pitcher's duel. Jessie Baughan added to the scoring by reaching base on a walk, stealing a base, and later scoring a run.
 
**#13 UWF 3, UAH 1:**
 
Both teams were held scoreless in the first. In the second inning, Jessie Baughan walked and then stole second. Bella Holliday capitalized with a single to right center, driving in Baughan for the game's first run. The inning concluded with the Argonauts leading 1-0.
 
The fourth inning saw West Fla. extending its lead. Holliday walked and advanced on Meg Fountain's single. After a ground out, Angelia Discenza reached first on an error, allowing both Holliday and Fountain to score, increasing the lead to 3-0.
 
The Chargers managed to score in the fifth inning when Allie Yeary singled down the left field line, bringing in a run, but West Fla. held them to that single run. The score stood at 3-1 at the end of the fifth inning.
 
The remaining innings were scoreless, with the Argonauts maintaining their defensive strength to secure the win. The final score was West Fla. 3, Alabama Huntsville 1.
