VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 2 University of West Florida women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a pair of wins in Valdosta, defeating Lynn 4-0 on Friday before sweeping Tampa 7-0 on Sunday at the VSU Tennis Courts. With the two victories, the Argonauts reached 20 wins in the regular season for the fifth time in program history and for the first time since the 2018-19 season heading into the Gulf South Conference Championships.

West Florida opened the weekend with a 4-0 victory over Lynn on Friday. The Argonauts claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, as Carlota Verdu and Sandra Recuenco defeated Lea Cakarevic and Meadow Garcia 6-3 while Kylie Kochis and Sophie Smith earned a 6-1 win over Hailey Lizano and Jessica Frank. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Guadalupe Martinez and Aline Midori Da Silva was left unfinished.

In singles play against Lynn, West Florida sealed the match with three straight-set victories. Kochis was first off the court with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Frank, followed by Alberte Jorgensen's 6-2, 6-3 victory against Lizano at No. 5. Da Silva clinched the dual at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Garcia to give the Argos the 4-0 decision. Martinez also led at No. 4 singles, while Verdu and Recuenco were both in unfinished matches at the top two spots.

The Argonauts returned to the court Sunday and completed the weekend with a 7-0 sweep of Tampa in the regular-season finale.
