Kent Morgan was named the director of strength and conditioning at the University of West Florida in August 2008.  Morgan is responsible for designing and implementing the year-round Argonaut football strength and conditioning program as well as supervising the day-to-day operation of the weight room and overseeing a staff that includes five graduate assistants as well as multiple interns. During his tenure as the director of sports performance at UWF, the Argonauts have won 41 conference championships and captured three NCAA DII National Championships.

Before his arrival to the University of West Florida, Morgan spent four years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas A&M University where he assisted with the Aggie football team as well as the Lady Aggie golf team.  While at Texas A&M, Morgan participated in 4 bowl games. He also helped the lady aggie golf team to three consecutive NCAA championship appearances.  

Morgan began his coaching career in 1998 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas Christian University. While at TCU, Morgan assisted with the Horned Frog football team and directed the strength and conditioning programs for men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and track and field. 

In May 2014, Morgan was named a Master Strength and Conditioning coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Along with being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, he is also USAW Level 1 certified. Morgan is also certified through the Titlest Performance Institute (TPI) as a golf fitness coach. He has attended both phases of the Eric Cressey baseball mentorship.  He graduated from Sam Houston State in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and was a member of the Bearkats track and field team.
