Justin Watson was hired as a graduate assistant for the UWF men's and women's cross country teams prior to the 2019 season. A two-time All-Gulf South Conference (2016-17) performer and a 2017 NCAA Division II All-South Region honoree at North Alabama, Watson finished first at the Stan Sims Invitational (2017) and the UAH Charger Invitational (2018). He holds three of the four fastest 8K times in UNA history and was a SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) representative for UNA and the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2018.
Watson is the son of Michael and Lorien Watson and is pursuing his gradate degree in physical education and human performance at UWF.
