2016: Missed season due to injury.

2015: A top runner for the University of West Florida, placing in the top two for every race… Ran a season-best time at the GSC Championships with a time of 25:38.45 in the 8,000-meter race… Won his second All-GSC First Team honor after finishing fifth overall…Finished 11th overall at the NCAA DII South Regional Championship with a time of 33:32.07 in the 10,000-meter race.

Fall 2014: Finished first on the team in every race for UWF... set a personal best and season best for UWF in the 8k at the Mountain Dew Invitational, finishing the 8k ninth overall in a time of 25:38.76... finished ninth at the GSC Championships in a time of 26:21.11 to earn All-GSC first team honors... finished 13th at the the NCAA South Regional 10k setting a personal best of 33:20.83 and earning NCAA All-South region honors... finished runner-up at the Gulf Coast Stampede in a time of 26:10.40 and fifth at the overall at the Valdosta State Cross Country Challenge in a time of 25:42.90... finished in the top 12 of every race during the regular season.

Spring 2014: Posted a personal best in the 5k at Florida Relays finishing in 15:15... ran a 15:41.9 in the 5k at the FSU Invitational for a 21st place finish... Finished 2nd (8:58.2) in the 3k at the USA Invite

Fall 2013: Finished 2nd overall and 2nd on the team (26:49) in the 8k at the Watson Ford Invitational … Placed 7th overall (27:20) in the 8k at the Pre-Regional Meet … Placed 12th overall (27:04) in the 8k at the Gulf Coast Stampede … Finished 14th overall (26:44.61) in the 8k at the Gulf South Conference Championships … Placed 14th overall and 2nd on the team (33:36.80) in the 10k at the NCAA DII South Regional Championships … Saw a 23rd place finish overall (26:08.96) at the Florida State Invitational

2012-13: Joined the team during the spring semester and competed with the Argonauts during the track and field season… ran a 5,000-meter time of 16:21 and finished 19th at the North Florida Invitational in his first event as an Argonaut… posted his best 5k time of the season at 16:03 at the FSU Relays.

High School: Was named Burnside High School Junior Sportsman of the Year in 2005… earned the principals' distinction for services to athletics and cross country in 2009… set personal records in the 5,000-meters (15:52), 8,000-meters (26:32) and the 10,000-meters (33:44)… also competed in cycling, tennis and triathlons.

Personal: Son of Richard and Robyn Merrett… has one sister, Annabel… exercise science major… his father represented New Zealand at the 2003 World Triathlon Championships.
