GSC Freshman of the Week (2/21, 2/28, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10)

2023-24 (Fr.): Finished with an outstanding 14-2 overall singles record in his first collegiate season, 8-1 in GSC play … Primarily at the 4 and 5 positions … Went 2-0 on the year against regionally ranked Christian Wedel of eventual national champion Valdosta State in a pair of two-set matchups (2/17, 3/30), the last of which sealed a regular season GSC title for UWF … Registered wins in two sets against No. 8 Wayne State (Mich.) (2/18), No. 15 Ouachita Baptist (3/20), No. 28 AUM (4/3), No. 26 Hawaii Pacific (4/15) and No. 5 Columbus State (4/20) and in three sets against No. 3 Saint Leo (2/16), No. 13 Lee (2/24) and No. 19 North Georgia (3/24) … Only two losses came against Mississippi College, one of them due to retirement … Did not drop a full match until the GSC semifinals … Also went 12-6 in doubles play alongside partners Albin Ekenros, Denilso Martinez, Mateo Martinez and Sebastian Rondon.

Prep: Earned a 300 world tennis ranking as a junior in high school ... Played for the El Salvador national team.

Personal: Son of Camilo and Patricia Duran ... Finance major ... Wants to be a professional tennis player ... Also likes to play golf.
