Garrett Rowland is in his second year as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at the University of West Florida. He is primarily responsible for the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Softball and Volleyball. He is also responsible for the strength and conditioning internship program.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Rowland has been working professionally with athletes since 2010. Previous experience includes assisting with the University of Mississippi and Missouri Southern State University Strength and Conditioning Programs, serving as a volunteer for the University of Memphis Football Strength Program and as a student intern for the University of Mississippi Olympic Sports Strength Staff.
He has worked with a variety of sports at the highest levels of NCAA competition including football, baseball, softball, basketball, track and field/cross country, volleyball, swimming and golf.
Rowland earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Mississippi where he also Pole Vaulted for the Ole Miss Track and Field team. He is also a member of the University of Mississippi M-Club.
Rowland is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), Certified Strength and conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified as a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. Rowland is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Fitness and Conditioning.
