2025 GSC Freshman of the Week (2X) – 3/11, 3/18

2025 (Fr.): Played in 43 games with 40 starts…saw most action at third base and occasionally at designated player or pinch hitter…batted .293 with 34 hits, 14 runs, 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 8 home runs…recorded 29 RBI and 66 total bases for a .569 slugging percentage…walked 9 times…also made 4 appearances in the circle, contributing to a shutout and recording 2 K’s…received first weekly award of career after earning GSC Freshman of the Week honors on March 11, going 4-9 at the plate with two runs, two home runs and four RBI in series against Trevecca Nazarene…earned second straight GSC Freshman of the Week award after series against UAH batting 6-10 with two runs, two home runs, and three RBI…Helped Argos secure win over UAH in GSC Championship with pinch hit two-RBI single on May 3^rd.

Personal: Studying Biomedical Science at UWF...Parents are Angela and Stephen Mergen...Siblings are Taylor, Stephanie and Angeline...Competed in softball and bowling at Park Vista High School...Played pitcher, third base, first base, and catcher...Freshman year 2021 Varsity starter, 7A District Champs, 7A Regional Champs, 7A runner up...2022 sophomore year varsity starter, Sun-Sentinel 1st Team Palm Beach Softball Player of the Year Nominee, 7A District champ, 7A Regional Champs, 7A State Final Four qualifyer...2022 Power 50 Home Run Derby Champ...Florida softball All-State team Sun-Sentinel Player of the Year for 2023, Palm Beach Post Softball Player of the Year nomination...plans to go to medical school and get doctorate...enjoys going to the beach, playing pickleball, bowling, and outside activities.
