Donny Baker joined the University of West Florida football staff as the offensive coordinator in February of 2025.

Baker came to UWF after spending four years on staff at NCAA Division II North Greenville University. Baker played four years as a quarterback at North Greenville before jumping into coaching starting in the 2021 season with his alma mater. His first two years were spent as an assistant coach overseeing the wide receiver group. In 2023 Baker was promoted to the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. He stayed in that position for two seasons before making the move to Pensacola, Fla. At NGU the Trailblazers won 20 games during his time.

“With my wife being a graduate of UWF, I have admired this university from afar and followed the football program for a long time,” Baker said. “So, when Coach Nobles presented the opportunity to step on staff here, it was not a hard decision. My relationship with Coach Nobles has grown over the years and I have always had a lot of respect for him and the way he sets the culture for the program.”

During his playing career at North Greenville, Baker played in 17 games, throwing for 1,187 yards and five touchdowns.

Donny has done a great job developing both WR's & QB's during his coaching career and we look forward to him continuing that development with our players. Donny is a valuable asset to our entire program in our goal of helping the players achieve on-field success while becoming Champions for Life."
