Joe Wintrick was hired in December 2022 as part of Kaleb Nobles' staff where he is responsible for coaching the running backs and tight ends. He also serves as the Director of Football Operations and is the Run Game Coordinator. 

In 2024 the Argos rushed for 1,792 yards and averaged 153.6 yards on the ground per game. The running backs combined for 1,413 of those yards. UWF rushed for 19 total touchdowns. Wintrick coached junior running back Jay Sharp who earned Second Team All - GSC All Purpose. 


In 2023, the Argos rush offense ran for nearly 1,000 yards more than its opponents. Wintrick helped guide the rush game to 2,439 total yards and 19 touchdowns. The running backs averaged 5.7 yards per rush. The team averaged 178.7 rushing yards per game. Wintrick coached senior running back CJ Wilson who earned Second Team All GSC. Junior tight end Jackson Blalock had the second most receiving yards in a season by a tight end in school history at 135 yards. As well as the most yards per catch by a tight end in school history at 19.29 yards per catch. 


Before coaching full-time at UWF, Wintrick spent a year at Division I FBS Louisiana-Monroe under head coach Terry Bowden. He served as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach and assisted the Offensive Coordinator in the press box on game days.

In his first coaching stint at UWF, Wintrick was the Tight Ends Coach, Video Coordinator from January 2020 - January 2022. In 2021, the tight end position saw a dramatic increase in production. Maverick Wolfley had a strong debut for the Argonauts, finishing with 13.7 yards per catch. UWF averaged over 6.3 yards per carry during the 2021 season to rank third in the nation. Wintrick, recruited and developed tight end Maverick Wolfley, who would end up signing a NFL rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Spring of 2023. 

As a 3-year letterwinner from the Argonauts from 2017-19, Wintrick started 37 games, including 10 NCAA Playoff contests. He earned Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-GSC as a senior in 2019. He transferred to UWF prior to the 2017 season after two years at Northwestern Oklahoma State. In his college career, Wintrick played in 52 games and started in 48. Playing the majority of his career at guard position, Wintrick made his first career start at left tackle in the third round of the playoffs in 2019.

Wintrick was voted on to the GSC Fall All-Academic Team in 2019 and was a member of the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society. The Tampa, Fla. native graduated with a bachelor's degree in Fitness and Sport Coaching in 2019 and has a masters degree in human performance from UWF.

Wintrick is married to his wife Mackenzie, who is a local elementary school teacher. Together they welcomed their first child, Joe Jr who was born in May of 2025.
