Lindahl joined the UWF women’s basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2013 as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Argonauts. During the 2013-14 campaign, the Argos finished with at least 19 wins in a season for the seventh time in school history, advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time and won its first Gulf South Conference Tournament Championship in school history. UWF received votes in the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association poll and won the Comfort Inn Thanksgiving Tournament (hosted by UWF) during that season.
Lindahl was involved in coaching women’s basketball since he was 15 but began his coaching career at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in 2000. From 2000-05, Lindahl coached the Golden Rams to a 100-37 record highlighted by an NJCAA national championship in 2005.
Lindahl then went to NAIA Missouri Valley College where he inherited a program that hadn't had a winning record the previous two seasons. Lindahl coached MVC to a winning record (49-42) in his three seasons from 2005-08 highlighted by a third-place conference finish in 2006-07, the best finish in school history.
From 2008-10, Lindahl coached at Minneapolis Community and Technical College where he turned the program around from a 5-26 record before he arrived to a 26-6 record and a No. 8 national ranking in 2009-10. Lindahl got his first Division II experience as a volunteer assistant coach at Concordia St. Paul from 2010-11. From 2011-12, he spent time as the head coach at Cretin-Derham Hall High School.
Lindahl has earned three coach of the year awards (2003, 2005 and 2010), coached four NJCAA All-Americans and one NAIA All-American.
Lindahl graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s in physical education and from Saint Mary’s University with a master’s in education. He spent time as a health and physical education instructor during his time with Anoka-Ramsey, Missouri Valley and Minneapolis Community and Technical.
He has been married to his wife Gayle since 1977, has three children: Alyson, Christopher and Ashley, and three grandchildren.
