Box Score CARROLLTON, Ga. – In its final match of the regular season, the West Florida women's soccer team defeated West Georgia 4-0 to improve its seeding in the Gulf South Conference standings.
The Argonauts (11-5, 9-3) outshot the Wolves (3-13-2, 3-8-1) 22-4 in the road victory.
UWF led 2-0 at halftime after receiving goals by
Svenja Burkhardt (Bad Salzuflen, Germany/Gymnasium Heepen) and
Taylor Burkhart (Pace, Fla./Pace HS) in the eighth and 37th minutes, respectively.
UWF added to its lead late in the second half.
Tricia Gould (Dunstable, England/Tyler JC) scored in the 87th minute and
Taylor Harbison (Neptune Beach, Fla./Fletcher HS) scored with 43 seconds remaining to give UWF the 4-0 win.
UWF will compete in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament Tuesday, Nov. 4. Official seeds, locations and times of GSC Tournament matches is expected to be announced later this evening.
