HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The West Florida men's basketball team dropped a close contest 64-58 to open Gulf South Conference play on the road at No. 15 Alabama Huntsville Thursday night.
The Argonauts (4-3, 0-1 GSC) led 49-47 with 11:05 remaining in the second half but were unable to hold off the Chargers (6-1, 1-0).
Terrence Townes (Danville, Va./Gulf Coast State) led UWF with 20 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
Erin Straughn(Pensacola, Fla./East Carolina) added 15 points and nine rebounds.
UWF will travel to North Alabama Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.
