PENSACOLA, Fla. - The West Florida women's basketball team returns home to begin 2015 with contests against Union (Tenn.) Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. and Christian Brothers Jan. 5 at 5 p.m.
UWF (8-2, 5-1) is tied for first in the Gulf South Conference standings after losing its first conference game of the season on a buzzer-beater at Mississippi College Dec. 18 and coming back to defeat Delta State in overtime Dec. 20.
Union (9-1, 5-1) is also tied for first in the GSC after losing its only game of the season to Lee, which UWF defeated Dec. 13. CBU (4-8, 2-4) is tied for last in the conference standings.
Leading the Conference
As a teamUWF leads the GSC in defensive and offensive rebounds per game, rebound margin, blocks per game, scoring defense, field goal percentage defense and three-point field goal defense.
The Argos are third in the GSC in scoring margin and turnover margin.
IndividuallyUWF has three of the top six blockers in the conference.
