ROME, Ga. – The University of West Florida men's basketball team fell to Shorter University 110-78 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Argonauts (6-15, 2-13) were led by sophomore
Deangelo Legrier (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater HS) who scored a career high 19 points after going 7-for-10 from the field.
Four Argos scored in double digits for West Florida, including
Justin Williams (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon HS) who scored 13 points and dished out four assists. Senior
Tyler Funk (Clarence, N.Y./ Hillsborough CC) scored 12 points for UWF while
Kent Langham (Robertsdale, Ala./Pensacola State College) scored 11 points.
Legrier also led UWF with eight rebounds in the game with UWF outrebounding their opponent 31-29. Shorter shot lights out from the field and ended the game shooting 62.7 percent (42-67) while UWF shot 43.9 percent (29-66).
The Argos will return home next weekend when they take on Delta State and Mississippi College Feb. 5 and 7.
