LIVINGSTON, ALA. - The Gulf South Conference leading West Florida women's basketball teams is back on the road this week. The Argonauts travel to West Alabama and West Georgia for games Jan. 10 and 12.
UWF (10-2, 7-1 GSC) leads the conference after knocking off Union last week at home to highlight its current three-game winning streak.
UWA (6-6, 3-5) has played just three home games all season in which it has gone 2-1. The Tigers were on a four game losing streak before winning two of their last three.
UWG (7-6, 2-5) began the season 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference before going on a five-game losing streak to fall to the bottom of the standings.
Leading the Conference
The Argos lead the conference in seven categories: blocks (4.3), defensive rebounds (30), offensive rebounds (17), rebound margin (10.4), scoring defense (56.1), field goal percentage defense (34.5) and three-point field goal defense (21.5). UWF is third in scoring margin (9.5), steals (8.8) and turnover margin (1.18).
UWF has seven individuals in the top six various categories.
Brianna Williams is second in steals (2.82).
Kelly Preston is second in blocks (1.27).
Jasmine Wigfall is fifth in free-throw percentage (78.0) and sixth in blocks (1.09).
Katie Bobos is fourth in rebounds (9.7).
Toni Brewer is fifth in rebounds (9.2) and sixth in field goal percentage (44.0).
