GSC Tournament Standings
With a win against Valdosta State on Wednesday afternoon, UWF moved into a tie for second place in the Gulf South Conference standings with 24 points. West Florida is tied with North Alabama and West Alabama, with Lee leading the conference with 27 points. UNA has two GSC matches remaining to take the lead in the conference, while UWF, UWA and Lee all have one match left.
Head-to-head records serve as a tie-breaker in the GSC standings, meaning West Florida has an advantage over UNA, should the teams finish in a tie. Lee and West Alabama, however, have the tie-breaker advantage over UWF. The top two seeds in the GSC Tournament receive a bye in the first round, while the No. 3 seed will host No. 6, and No. 4 will host No. 5. The winners of those matches will then travel to the top-seeded team's home pitch for the semifinal and final rounds.
Regional Rankings
UWF jumped to fourth in the latest South Region rankings. Like in the GSC Tournament, the third and fourth seeds for each region in the NCAA Tournament will host a first-round game against the sixth- and fifth-seeded teams, respectively. The winners of those games will face the top two seeds in the region for the tournament's second round.
