MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The West Florida women's basketball team goes on its final two-game road trip of the regular season this week. The Argonauts travel to Memphis, Tenn. to play Christian Brothers Feb. 12 and Jackson, Tenn. to play Union Feb. 14.
The first game of the weekend pits the Gulf South Conference's second-place team, the Argos (16-5, 13-4), against the 11th-place Buccaneers (7-16, 5-12). CBU has one upset on its resume this season, a 61-40 win over GSC powerhouse Delta State Dec. 11. UWF defeated CBU 64-53 in Pensacola, Fla. Jan. 5.
The Argos will then look to knock off first-place Union (18-3, 14-3), which received votes in the latest WBCA/USA Today national poll. The Argos downed the Bulldogs 78-61 in Pensacola Jan. 3. Last season, UWF defeated Union in Jackson 69-60 in the first meeting between the teams before the Bulldogs got their revenge, beating UWF 77-70 in Pensacola later in the year.
Senior Stepping Up
The lone senior on the 2014-15 roster,

On the season, Williams leads the team in minutes per game with an average of 34 per game while averaging 10.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game and five rebounds per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the field.
Meyer named GSC FOW
UWF freshman women's basketball players continued to collect Gulf South Conference Freshmen of the Week awards, but this time it was
Courtney Meyer earning the honor.
Meyer earned her first GSC FOW Tuesday, breaking teammate
Toni Brewer's streak of four consecutive FOW awards. A UWF player has now earned the award in five consecutive weeks and eight times this season.
Meyer averaged 11.5 points per game while shooting 90 (9-for-10) percent from the field last week. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game.
