Monika Kochanova will be honored before the match for their contributions to the UWF tennis program. The Argonauts end the regular season with a 25-3 overall record.
West Florida came in at number two in the latest NCAA South Region rankings. The top two teams in the regional rankings at the end of the year will host the NCAA South Regional Championships. The NCAA DII Tennis Championships selection show will be on Tuesday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.
West Florida's No. 10-ranked doubles team of seniors
Laure-Eline Faure (Toulouse, France) and
Monika Kochanova (Bratislava, Slovakia) defeated Xavier's NAIA No. 20-ranked doubles team of Nour Abbes and Carmen Nelson at number one doubles 8-4.
Senior
Fernanda Amaral (Curitiba, Brazil) and junior
Nina Bubelova (Povazska Bystrica, Slovakia) won their 10
th straight match at number two doubles by a score of 8-1. With the win, Amaral earns her 70
th career doubles win in her final regular season home match of her career.
Juniors
Katarina Dikosavljevic (Queensland, Australia) and Giovanna Patitucci (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won 8-5 at number three doubles.
Faure defeated Xavier's NAIA No. 1-ranked singles player Nour Abbes 7-6, 2-6, 10-5 at number one singles while No. 18 Kochanova won at number two singles by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Dikosavljevic won 6-0, 6-1 at number three singles while Bubelova won her 12
th straight match at number four singles by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Amaral won her seventh consecutive match 6-4, 6-3 at number five singles while junior
Sarai Flores (Mexico City, Mexico) won at number six singles by a score of 6-2, 6-0.
West Florida will next compete in the NCAA DII South Regional Championships on May 2-5.
