Enderlin's two goals leads UWF over Rollins

West Florida bests South Region rival Rollins in back-and-forth offensive contest

Box Score September 11, 2015

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The University of West Florida men's soccer team defeated Rollins College on Friday night, 4-3. Freshman Stephen Enderlin (Little Rock, Ark./Catholic High School for Boys) led the way for West Florida, scoring two goals and being the first freshman since Stephen Munoz to record a multi-goal game. Munoz accomplished the feat on November 6, 2009 against Ouachita Baptist.  UWF stays undefeated on the season, starting off 3-0 for the first time since 2009, while Rollins suffered its third consecutive defeat to start 2015 and stands at 0-3.

The Argonauts jumped out to its first lead of the night from Enderlin's first goal in the 24th minute that was made possible by a deflected clear attempt by a Rollins defender, which was then collected by senior Felipe Oliveira (Kissimmee, Fla./Gateway HS) and dished to Enderlin. Rollins added a goal to tie the score several minutes later, however a Marteinn Urbancic (Reykjavik, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) assist made a go-ahead goal from junior Johnathan Quintero (Port Saint Lucie, Fla./Eastern Florida State College) possible, giving West Florida a 2-1 advantage. Rollins would respond just seconds later creating a knotted score at halftime.

Coming back from the halftime break, sophomore Tristan Rehrig (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo HS) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from freshman Kameron Bethell (Navarre, Fla./Navarre HS). With eight minutes remaining, Enderlin recorded his second goal of the game, collecting a rebounded save and putting it away in a wide-open net. Rollins would make its final push to try to even the score before the end of regulation and scored a goal in the 86th minute, but it was not enough as UWF held on for the 4-3 victory.

Junior Andre Moreira (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Colegio de A a Z) got the nod in net for the Argos and recorded four saves in his effort against the Tars.

UWF stays south and makes the hour-long trip from Winter Park to Lakeland to battle another Sunshine State Conference opponent in Florida Southern on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
