PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 21-ranked University of West Florida volleyball team will face a pair of Gulf South Conference opponents at home this weekend. West Florida will face Christian Brothers on Friday, October 2 at 6 p.m. CT before facing Union (Tenn.) on Saturday, October 3 at 2 p.m. CT. UWF will also face reigning GSC Tournament Champion Valdosta State on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. CT.

Friday, October 2 will be family night and will feature half priced admission and concession specials. Saturday, October 3 will be first responders night and will feature free admission for all first responders with valid ID.
 
MARTELLA NAMED GSC DPOW
Tori Martella was named the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading UWF to a 2-0 record over the weekend en route to earning her first career GSC weekly honor. Martella tallied 34 digs in the 3-1 win over Shorter on Saturday to break the UWF program record for digs in a four-set match. The junior averaged 6.14 digs per set over the weekend.
 
DUYN CLIMBING CAREER KILLS/DIGS LIST
Autumn Duyn ranks fourth in career kills at West Florida (1,183), just 108 kills behind her former teammate Lindsey Homme (2009-13). Duyn also ranks 20th among all active NCAA DII student-athletes in career kills. The Venice, Florida native recently moved into second place on the career digs list at West Florida and has 1,300 digs in her career.
 
ARGOS RANK NO. 21 AVCA DII TOP 25 COACHES POLL
UWF earned the No. 21 ranking in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll after going 2-0 over the past weekend against Gulf South Conference opponents. West Florida improved to 11-2 overall on the year with a pair of wins over Lee and Shorter. West Florida is the only team currently ranked in the AVCA DII Top 25 Coaches Poll from the GSC, and is one of four teams representing the south region in the latest poll. This is the fourth consecutive week that the Argonauts have appeared in the top 25 poll.
 
UWF LIBEROS STARTING TO DIG INTO HISTORY
Junior Tori Martella currently ranks first the GSC in digs per set (5.27) and leads the Argonauts with 232 digs this season. Martella ranks eighth in career digs at West Florida (907) and needs seven digs to move into seventh place on the career digs list. Senior Colleen Starrs currently ranks fifth on the career digs list (1,039).
 
TORRE RANKS HIGH IN GSC STATS
UWF redshirt junior Kathryn Torre currently ranks second in the Gulf South Conference in blocks per set (1.00) and seventh in attacking percentage (.303) in her first year of competition for UWF.
