th against the University of Tampa. Gulf South Conference play will begin on September 25

Argonauts bring back strong core for 2015
UWF men's soccer program returns 10 starters from the 2014 season for 2015, with the lone starting Argo from 2014 to depart the program being
Stephan Hohn. the Argonuauts return leading goal scorer Felipe Oliviera (Kissimmee, Fla./Gateway HS) who is expected to be a big piece of the Argo offense for head coach
Bill Elliott.
Jorge Chirinos (Tampa, Fla./Leto HS) and
Johnathan Quintero (Port Saint Lucie, Fla./Eastern Florida State College) both return after sharing the team lead in assists a year ago.
All four All-GSC selections from 2014 return to the pitch in 2015 for UWF, with First Team selection in Oliviera leading the pack with three Second Team selections also returning in Chirinos, junior goalkeeper
Andre Moreira (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Colegio de A a Z), and senior defender
Soren Yuhaschek (Orlando, Fla./Freedom HS).
Well-seasoned bench provides depth and experience
Of the 13 reserves returning to the men's soccer team, eight saw their playing time north of 300 minutes during the 2014 season. All 24 players who saw action in 2014 started at least one game, providing Coach Elliott with a well-balanced rotation of players with experienced underclassmen.
Oliveira looks to climb UWF career goals record
Senior forward
Felipe Oliveira (Kissimmee, Fla./Gateway HS), starts his 2015 efforts sitting 10th in program history with 23 career goals. Oliveira is just behind Jon Steffanson (1998), who totaled 25 goals in his time at UWF. Aren Cook is within striking distance as well, sitting at 27, while a productive 2015 season for Oliveira could help him surpass Igor Goncalez (1999-2002) and Jimmy McHenry (2006-2007) who share the six spot, with 29 goals each.
Elliott coming off impressive summer
Head Coach
Bill Elliott spent his summer with the National Premier Soccer League's Chattanooga FC, where he led the team to the National Championship game before falling to New York Cosmos B, 3-2 in overtime on August 9. Graduate assistant coach and CFC captain
James Moore manned the backline while fellow former Argonaut Matt Aldred was a starting midfielder for the CFC squad.
GSC coaches pick Argos to finish fourth in preseason rankings
Coaches from the Gulf South Conference held their annual preseason coaches' poll and selected the 2015 Argos squad to finish 4th in the standings. Christian Brothers and Alabama-Huntsville came out on top, sharing the first place honor, while West Alabama finished third.
Felipe Oliveira was recognized as a member of the preseason All-GSC team for the second time in his collegiate career, while freshmen newcomers
Kameron Bethell (Navarre, Fla./Navarre HS) and
Owen Munro (Kintore, Scotland/Lawton Chiles HS) were recognized as two of the top rookies coming into GSC play this fall.
