BOX SCORE: PDF | HTML January 11, 2016 PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's basketball team earned its 10th win of the year with a victory over West Georgia on Monday. UWF improved to 10-4 with an 8-2 record in the Gulf South Conference, and the Argonauts have now won seven consecutive games.
West Florida was led by sophomore forward
Toni Brewer, who scored a team-best 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, her season high. Brewer's was the 10th double-double of the season for the Argonauts.
The Argos dominated the boards against West Georgia, outrebounding the Wolves 45-30 and picking up 15 offensive rebounds that led to 12 points.
UWF trailed after a quarter but heated up after the first 10 minutes, shooting 8-17 from the floor and 4-6 from three-point range in the second. UWF's hot shooting led the team to a two-point 36-34 lead at the halfway point.
The Argos stretched the lead to four after the third quarter and held UWG to just 3-12 shooting in the fourth. West Georgia took a one-point lead with 2:03 left in the game, but freshman
Belle Bistrow's baseline jumper with 1:50 remaining turned out to be the game-winner for UWF. Bistrow's shot gave UWF a 58-57 lead, and free throws from
Kelly Preston and
Katie Bobos cemented the UWF win.

Katie Bobos each scored 12 points, with Bistrow going 5-10 from the field and 2-5 from beyond the arc. The freshman earned her second start of the season and reached double digits for the second consecutive game.

Alex Coyne added six assists, a number she has matched in all but one of UWF's games this season. Coyne turned the ball over just once, marking the 12th game this season in which she has posted a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. UWF is
