JACKSON, Tenn. – The University of West Florida volleyball team suffered its first Gulf South Conference regular season loss in nearly a year as the Union University Bulldogs shocked the No. 22-ranked Argonauts in four sets, 25-17, 20-25, 22-25, 21-25.
West Florida utilized a .333 attack percentage to cruise to a first set, 25-17 victory. After that point, UWF struggled and only hit .134 in the match's final three sets.
On the other side of the court, Union was able to rebound after posting a .091 attack success rate in the first set by recording 44 kills in the final three sets while holding West Florida to only 30.
Rachel Neblett was a bright spot for the Argonauts, recording a team-best 14 kills with a .400 attack percentage.
West Florida resumes action on Friday, October 7
th against Alabama Huntsville for a 6:00 p.m. match at home.
