ABOUT UWF
* Fifth-year head coach Stephanie Lawrence Yelton has four starters and eight letterwinners back from last year's 17-10 squad that finished tied for third in the GSC regular season at 15-7.
* Yelton is 66-51 at UWF and 123-135 in 9-plus years as a college head coach, which includes a 57-84 mark in at Charleston Southern from 2001-06 ... She is a 1996 North Carolina graduate who graduated as the school's all-time leader in every 3-point category.
QUITE A START
* UWF is 4-0 on the young season with a pair of neutral-site wins, a road win at Montevallo last Saturday and a home win over Spring Hill on Tuesday ... UWF is 4-0 for the first time since a 6-0 start in 1996-97 ... UWF took a foreign tour to the Dominican Republic from Aug. 11-18. The squad played four games, visited local sugarcane villages, orphanages and women's shelters while ministering and sharing the love of basketball.
UWF IN THE RANKINGS
* UWF is currently ranked No. 4 in the D2 South Region Media Poll and is the third team receiving votes in the D2SIDA national top 25 media poll.
ABOUT AUBURN-MONTGOMERY
* AUM is 1-4 on the year and will be playing its home opener on Sunday ... Their lone victory was a 60-51 win at Georgia Southwestern ... The Warhawks also dropped a 2-point decision to Palm Beach Atlantic after a 9-point setback at Lynn to open the year ... Last season, AUM went 23-10 and qualified for the NAIA National tournament for the 19th time in program history.
* AUM is in the first year of its transition from the NAIA to NCAA and will officially join the Gulf South Conference next season. The Warhawks will not be eligible for postseason competition until the 2019-20 season.
* Head coach Don Davis is in his ninth season at AUM and has compiled a 143-104 record.
* The Warhawks return four letterwinners and welcome seven newcomers for the 2016-17 season.
* Leading the returners for the Warhawks is two-time All-Southern States Athletic Conference performer Kaylan Withrow. Last season, the senior hit an AUM season-record 108 3-pointers and ranks second in school history with 257 made treys.
* AUM is being outscored by an average of 74-61 this season and has five players averaging 7.6 points per game or more. Tyra Caudle leads the team with 9.0 ppg and is second with 5.4 rebounds per game.
BREWER ON A TEAR EARLY ON
* Junior F Toni Brewer has averaged 16.0 points and 17.3 rebounds with four double-doubles in the first four contests ... Last Saturday, she pulled down a career-high 23 rebounds at Montevallo ... that marked the most in either Division I or II this season, the second-most in UWF history and the 13th-most in GSC history ... She enters the AUM game with 726 points and 531 rebounds in her career.
MULMORE LEADS UWF IN SCORING AS A TRUE FRESHMAN
* Freshman G Imani Mulmore has made quite an impact on her new team, leading the Argos in scoring with 17.0 points, while adding 3.4 rebounds per game ... She has scoring totals of 15 against Eckerd, 20 against Albany State, 16 at Montevallo and 9 versus Spring Hill ... Her attacking style has allowed the New Orleans native to shoot 26-for-34 (.758) at the free throw line ... Both of her FT made and attempted are second in the GSC, trailing all-GSC pick Taylor Adams of Shorter with 28-for-36.
BOBOS NEARING 1,000 POINTS & UWF REBOUNDING RECORD
* Senior F Katie Bobos has been as consistent a performer as anyone in school history, entering the AUM game with 953 points and 662 rebounds ... The Lowell, Ind. native posted her third-consecutive double-digit scoring game on Tuesday against Spring Hill ... She is poised to become just the tenth player in program history to surpass 1,000 points, and is just 137 rebounds from setting the school record.

UWF PICKED 3RD IN GSC PRESEASON POLL
* The UWF women's basketball team was picked to finish third in the Gulf South Conference preseason coaches poll ... UWF earned a total of 101 points in the voting process, collecting one first place vote, a league-high five second-place votes, one third, three fourth and a fifth place vote.
* Defending regular-season champion Union was picked first, followed by Delta State, which won the GSC Tournament title. Lee followed UWF in fourth, and Shorter was picked fifth.
* Seniors Katie Bobos and Alex Coyne were each named to the 5-member preseason all-conference team ... Bobos was a second-team all-GSC and academic all-GSC honoree last year after averaging 12.8 points and 8.0 rebounds. The Lowell, Indiana native scored in double figures in 21 games and collected eight double-doubles ... Coyne was also a second team choice a year ago after transferring from Southern Miss. In her first season with the Argos, the point guard from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania averaged 10.0 points, 6.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. She led the GSC and ranked fifth in the NCAA in assists, and was third in GSC and 49th nationally in steals.
