PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's basketball team fell in a back-and-forth contest against the Lee Lady Flames for the first round of the Gulf South Conference Championship Quarterfinals on Tuesday, 63-62.

Toni Brewer and Courtney Meyer, who each recorded a double-double, led UWF by each grabbing 12 rebounds while Brewer posted 12 points and Meyer recorded 11. Meyer also contributed four blocks and four steals, while Alex Coyne contributed nine points and five assists. Katie Bobos added 10 points and seven rebounds.

UWF out rebounded Lee 47-32 in the contest while the Flames held the advantage in shooting with a 40.3 percent field goal percentage in comparison to UWF's 37.3.

With a 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, UWF and Lee were locked at 59-59 before Lee's Erin Walsh converted on four consecutive free throws to give the Lady Flames a 63-59. Katie O"Neal came through in the game's final seconds, swishing a three-pointer from the left wing to cut Lee's lead to one. UWF immediately fouled and with Lee missing both of its free throw attempts, the Argos had Coyne run nearly length of the floor for an off-balance, last-second shot that ricocheted off the backboard and sealed Lee's 63-62 win.
