BOX SCOREPENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 6-ranked University of West Florida women's tennis team swept the No. 15-ranked Valdosta State Blazers 9-0 at home on Friday afternoon. West Florida (13-2, 6-0 GSC) remains unbeaten in the Gulf South Conference this season and improves to 8-2 in matches against south region opponents. UWF extends its winning streak against GSC opponents to 61 with the win.

Valeria Mantilla (Bogotá, Colombia) and junior
Hannah Toro (London, England) defeated Josephine Jedrychowski and Taylor Vinge 8-3 at number one doubles.
Senior
Nina Bubelova (Povazska Bystrica, Slovakia) and junior
Paula Lopez (Tucumán, Argentina) improved to 13-1 on the year by defeating Sabrina Schmidt and Laura Ubeda 8-3 at number two doubles.
Senior
Katarina Dikosavljevic (Queensland, Australia) and freshman
Dianna Vlad (Oberhausen, Germany) defeated Daniella Barta and Anke Poncelet 8-6 at number three doubles.
Dikosavljevic improved to 3-2 against regionally ranked opponents as Morales Hernandez retired in the first set at number one singles while No. 46 Lopez improved to 2-2 against regionally ranked opponents and 11-2 overall with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ubeda at number two singles.
Bubelova defeated Schmidt 6-3, 7-4 at number three singles while senior
Sarai Flores (Mexico City, Mexico) defeated Jedrychowski 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 at number four singles.
Vlad defeated Poncelet 7-6, 7-5 at number five singles while freshman
Heather Mixon (New Iberia, La./Catholic HS) remained undefeated and improved to 13-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Barta at number six singles.
West Florida will next play host to No. 28 Concordia (N.Y.) on Saturday, March 26 at 9 a.m. The Argonauts will then host No. 1 BYU-Hawaii on Thursday, March 31 at 1 p.m.
