PENSACOLA, Fla. - UWF women's soccer hosted University of West Georgia Friday evening. UWF netted seven in an impressive showcase of offensive depth, all seven goals coming from different goalscorers.
Isabella Garcia opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a lovely shot into the lower left corner past West Georgia goalkeeper Jackie Donaldson.
Shantell Thompson would curl in a corner in the 16th minute which Grace Busby headed in to make it 2-0 for UWF.
Leonie Kreil would make it three with a wonderful curling strike into the corner from outside the box assisted by Kaljit Atwal.
Jessica Quixley would make it four with a long range effort from outside the box about ten yards from the endline on the right hand side of the pitch with Kaljit Atwal registering her second assist on the night.
UWF would come out in the second half strong with Grayson Sheets combining with Robyn Herman on the left before slotting the ball past Jackie Donaldson to make it five for the Argonauts.
The Argonauts were not satisfied and Kaljit Atwal would add to her two assists the a hitting a fantastic strike from outside the box after a great team play which culminated with an assist from Grayson Sheets.
Cheyenne Andrews would dodge past two defenders before finding the feet of Shantell Thompson, who bent in the final goal with her left foot as she cut in from the right side of the box.
UWF move to an overall record of 9-3-1 and 6-2-1 in the GSC.
UWF women's soccer will be back in action at home on Sunday against North Alabama at 12:30pm.
