PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's soccer team will make the trip to Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee, this weekend for a pair of Gulf South Conference contests against Christian Brothers and Union on Friday and Sunday.
The Argonauts are currently ranked fifth in the GSC with 22 points in conference play and a 7-2-1 record, with four matches left in the season. Both contests over the weekend will have a live video broadcast and live stats, which can be found at GoArgos.com or by clicking the links above.
Friday's match against Christian Brothers is scheduled for a 5 pm kickoff at Signaigo Field in Memphis, and the Argonauts will visit Smith Memorial Soccer Complex for a 2 pm kickoff against Union in Jackson, Tennessee, on Sunday.
SCOUTING CBU
* Sitting at 8-5-1 and 6-4-1 in the GSC, Christian Brothers has lost two of its last three contests.
* The Lady Bucs are currently tied with West Georgia for sixth in the conference, three points behind UWF.
* Freshman Bailey Tadlock leads CBU with 7 goals and 18 points on the year.
SCOUTING UNION
* Union enters the weekend coming off of a 2-0 win over Alabama Huntsville.
* The Lady Bulldogs are 4-8 on the year and 4-7 in the GSC.
* Union commits fewer fouls than any other team in the conference, with only 72 on the year. The Lady Bulldogs average just six fouls per game this season.
LAST TIME OUT
* West Florida is coming off of a 3-0 week with conference wins over Montevallo, West Georgia and North Alabama. UWF is now 10-3-1 (10-2-1) on the year.
* After the weekend sweep, UWF placed 5th in the initial DII Women's Soccer South Region Rankings announced earlier this week.
* The rankings decide the final playoff field for the NCAA tournament, which begins on November 10.
KREIL ON FIRE
* Sophomore
Leonie Kreil netted her seventh goal of the year against UNA last weekend, which is the highest total on the team. She now has 21 points on the year, with a Gulf South Conference-best seven assists to go along with those seven goals.
IN THE RANKINGS
* Individually,
Leonie Kreil ranks 20th nationally in assists per game (0.50) and 18th total assists (7). The Argonauts rank 8th in DII in scoring offense (3.2 goals per game) and 10th in points per game (8.5) nationally.
