PENSACOLA, Fla. - Pete Love's goal in the 72nd minute was enough to claim the win over Union on Sunday making it two wins on the road this weekend for UWF in GSC play.
It didn't take long for Erick Rivera to get on the scoring sheet with a goal after over a minute of play. Rivera capitalized on a defensive error to put UWF up 1-0. Erick Rivera scored his second of the season.
Union would pull one back in the 16th minute as Zac Fletcher assisted Paul Langford.
The first half would end 1-1 with UWF having the upper hand with 13 shots to Union's 8.
Pete Love would finish his first of the season and the game winner for the Argonauts in the 72nd minute to make it 2-1.
UWF put 11 of their 24 shots on frame forcing nine saves from Union goalkeeper Casper Nyberg.
Goalkeeper Jacob Murray made six saves on the day to keep out the Union offensive and give UWF their fourth GSC win of the season.
The Argonauts are now 6-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the GSC with two conference games left in the season.
UWF will face Auburn Montgomery at home on Thursday, October 26th at 6:00pm.
