SCOUTING SHORTER
* Shorter has struggled to get things going this year, with a 1-7-1 overall record and an 0-6 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
* The Hawks' top scorer this year has been Taylor Hendrix, a senior forward from Newnan, Georgia, with four goals and an assist on the season.
* Shorter's lone win of the year was against Bryan on September 6, and the Hawks have since dropped contests against Mississippi College (0-2), Delta State (1-2), and Christian Brothers (0-3).
* West Florida is a perfect 7-0 all-time against Shorter, with a 3-0 record at Ben Brady Field in Rome.
HEADING TO LEE
* Lee enters the weekend ranked 24th in DII and is 7-3 on the year, with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Christian Brothers standing as the team's only conference loss.
* Statistically, Lee looks a lot like Mississippi College -- over their last five games, the Lady Flames have scored four goals and allowed just one, going 4-1 in five 1-0 games. Lee has played in seven 1-0 games this season, going 4-3.
* Summer Lanter has been Lee's top performer this year, with a team-high 6 goals, including 4 game-winners, and 13 points. She was last year's Gulf South Conference Co-Player of the Year.
* Lee ranks third in the GSC in shutout percentage (.400), with all four of the team's shutouts coming in its last four games.
GOOD STUFF AGAINST LEE
* UWF holds a 3-1-1 all-time record against Lee, with a slight 7-5 scoring edge in the series history.
* The Argos got the better of the Lady Flames last year, with a 1-0 win in Cleveland.
* Arguably the best matchup in the series history came in 2015, during the Gulf South Conference Tournament. In the driving rain in Florence, Alabama, UWF tied that match at 3-3 with only six seconds remaining in regulation on a
Georgia Bailey header, forcing the teams into overtime. After two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods, Lee squeezed by UWF 4-3 in penalty kicks and advanced into the GSC Championship Match.
AGAINST THE STATE OF GEORGIA
* West Florida kicks off a weekend of GSC play at Shorter, which is located in Rome, Georgia. The Argonauts have had a good deal of success against teams from the Peach State in their history.
