ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 6-2 on the year and has won its last four contests, holding the opposition to 58 points or less in each game.
* UWF is outscoring its opponents by an average of 74.6-60.5 while playing a perfect 3-0 at home this season. The Argonauts are shooting 41 percent from the floor and averaging 5.3 3-pointers per game.
* As has been the case in the last two seasons, the UWF defense has served the squad well, leading the GSC in field goal percentage defense (.324) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.232). Thos number rank sixth and eighth, respectively in the NCAA. The Argos lead the league in total rebounds at 48.9 per game and defensive rebounding at 34.9 per game (1st in the NCAA).
* Junior transfer Halee Nieman leads a trio of players who average in double figures. Nieman has posted 15.1 points to rank eighth in the GSC. Senio Shami Goodman has posted 11.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest. Senior Courtney Meyer has also been solid and is averaging a double-double with 10.5 points and 12.8 rebounds to go along with 3.0 blocks per game. She has six double-double to lead the team and is second in the GSC behind Ivy Wallen's seven.
SCOUTING WEST ALABAMA
* UWA is 4-2 this season and coming off a 69-62 home win over Miles College. Prior to that, the Tigers had lost four of five with their only victory coming 62-55 win over Alabama Huntsville.
* UWA's Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is the top scoring freshman in the GSC, averaging 14.4 points per game. She is tied for fifth in the GSC with 55 made field goals and third in the league - and the top freshman - in field goal percentage at .618 (55-for-89).
* The Tigers were picked to finish 11th in the GSC in the preseason coaches poll.
SERIES HISTORY
* Since 2006, UWF has won 16 of 26 total meetings. UWF won both regular-season games last year to extend its win streak to 9 games overall.
* UWF has won the last nine games in Pensacola as well.
TOP TWO SHOT BLOCKERS
The top two shot blockers in the GSC are featured in the game. UWF's Courtney Meyer leads the league and is 11th nationally with 2.9 blocked shots per game, followed by UWA's Sydney Bozeman at 1.7. Meyer also leads the league and is third in the country in rebounding at 12.8 per game, and is second in double-doubles (9th in th NCAA).
