UWF Travels to Tuskegee

Argonauts hosted by Golden Tigers on Tuesday

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's basketball will take on Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama on Tuesday at 5:00pm.

The Argonauts hosted the Golden Tigers last Thursday in Pensacola. The Argonauts ran away with a big win over the Golden Tigers putting up 86 points to Tuskegee's 56. In it's final game before opening Gulf South Conference play on Saturday, UWF (5-2) shot 45 percent and got a second-consecutive dominating defensive performance as it held the Golden Tigers to a season-low 33 percent effort.

In the last matchup with the Golden Tigers Halee Nieman led a balanced offensive attack with 15 points as four starters hit double figures and all 11 players scored for the Argonauts. Courtney Meyer controlled the paint with 13 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists as she tallied her fifth double-double of the year.

On Saturday the Argonauts opened GSC play against Valdosta with a 67-58 win. Shami Goodman scored 30 points and led the University of West Florida women's basketball team in the win over Valdosta.

Courtney Meyer currently leads the GSC in blocks averaging almost three per game. Halee Nieman is currently tenth in GSC for points with 102 points over 7 games with an average of 15 points per game.
