Welcome to the homepage for UWF swimming and diving at this year's NCAA Championships, hosted in Birmingham, Alabama, as a part of the 2017 Division II National Championships Festival! The event will be held at the Crossplex in Birmingham this year and will run from Tuesday, March 7 through Saturday, March 11.
Â
West Florida will send 10 student-athletes to the meet, including divers
Monica Amaral,
Mariah Constantakos and
Meghan Zets, who will compete in the NCAA Diving Qualifier on Tuesday. In addition to the divers, UWF sends
Pia Hulley,
Theresa Michalak,
Madeline Pitt and
Taby Read-Cayton, who each qualified for at least two events in the meet. Michalak has the second-fastest times in DII in each of her four events and broke the national record in the 100 Breast at the Panther Invitational in Melbourne, Florida, earlier this season.
Â
Danica Burnett,
Mariana de Paula and
Rebecca Halfast have each been added to the traveling team and will be featured as members of relay teams.
Â
UWF also qualified as a team for all five relay events. The Argonauts have put together some of the strongest relay groups in the country, with top-eight times in DII in the 400 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Free Relays.
Â
The festival will include national championships for men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor track & field, and wrestling, which all take place this week.
