ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 10-6 on the year following a pair of road losses last week at Union and Christian Brothers. The Argonauts are tied for fifth in the GSC at 5-4.
* UWF ranks third in the GSC in scoring offense at 72.1 ppg, but ninth in scoring defense at 61.4 ppg. The Argonauts are shooting 40.7 percent from the floor. They rank second in the league in 3-point FG pct., making 33.0 pct and are averaging 4.6 3-pointers per game.
* As has been the case in the last two seasons, the UWF defense has served the squad well, leading the GSC in field goal percentage defense (.342) and ranking second in 3-point field goal pct. defense (.247). Those number are 13th and 7th, respectively in the NCAA. The Argos lead the league in total rebounds at 45.9 per game and defensive rebounding at 33.0 per game (4th in the NCAA).
* Junior transfer Halee Nieman leads a pair of players who average in double figures. Nieman has posted 15.2 points to rank sixth in the GSC. She leads all players in the GSC in FT made (87 - also #12 in NCAA) and FT attempts (139 - also #1 in NCAA), while she is 16th with her 63 pct. conversion rate. Nieman, who played her first two years at Saginaw Valley State, enters the weekend with 809 career points and 427 rebounds.
* Senior Shami Goodman has posted 11.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. She has seven games in double figures with three of at least 22.
* Junior Belle Bistrow is scoring 9.3 points per contest and shares the team with 26 3-pointers with Shami Goodman on the season. Her 1.6 3FG per game are tied for tenth in the league. She made a combined 9-of-12 from outside in a recent 2-game stretch against West Alabama and Montevallo, while scoring a career-high 17 in each contest.
* Senior Jade Davis averages 2.6 assists per game and is seventh in the GSC with 1.6 steals per contest.
* Senior Courtney Meyer has also been solid and is averaging a near double-double with 8.4 points and 11.1 rebounds to go along with 41 blocked shots for 2.6 blocks per game. She has seven double-doubles to lead the team, rank 2nd in the GSC and 27th in the NCAA. She leads the GSC in both rebounds and blocked shots, while ranking 7th in the NCAA in rebs and 13th in blocks. She has 755 points, 811 rebounds and a UWF record 223 blocks in 107 career games.

* Senior Chloe Branch is averaging 6.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over 18.2 minutes per game. The transfer from Kennesaw State has done well recently, posting 8.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg in the last four games, while averaging 22 minutes per outing.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
* Union ranks second in the country in 3-point field goals made per game at 11.4 and is 11th in 3-point FG percentage at .382. UWF ranks seventh nationally in 3-point FG percentage defense at .247, while yielding 4.6 made triples per contest. The Argonauts also lead the GSC with a .342 FG pct. defense.
* UWF also ranks ninth in the NCAA in rebounds at 45.9 per game and fourth in defensive rebounds at 33.0 per game.
NIEMAN SETS UWF SCORING RECORD, NAMED GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
* The junior from Midland, Michigan averaged 26 points and 15 rebounds in a split against West Alabama and Montevallo before the NCAA Division II Life in Balance break.
* She scored a career-high and school-record 42 points in the win over Montevallo on Monday, which included 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting after halftime. That scoring total is tied for the most in Division II this season and tied for the 13th highest in GSC history. She also had a career-high 20 rebounds against the Falcons, which are the most in the league this year. She had opened the weekend with 10 points and 10 boards Saturday against UWA.
* Nieman is now averaging 16.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game with two double-doubles. She ranks third in the GSC in scoring and sixth in rebounding. Nieman, who is in her first season at UWF after transferring from Saginaw Valley State, has 739 points and 365 rebounds in 68 career games.
YELTON REACHES 100 WINS AT UWF
* UWF head coach Stephanie Lawrence Yelton reached a milestone in her UWF coaching career earlier this week. The sixth-year coach became the third coach in program history to reach the 100-victory mark after Tuesday's win over Delta State, joining Shannan Bergen (183 victories) and Kathy Davis (175).
* She is now 100-62 at UWF and currently has a 157-146 head coaching record.
SCOUTING WEST GEORGIA
* UWG is 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the GSC. The Wolves have won two of their last three, defeating Auburn-Montgomery and Alabama Huntsville, with a loss to North Alabama, but are 2-4 in their last six. They are 2-2 in GSC road action, winning at Shorter and Lee, while dropping games at Union and CBU two weeks ago.
* Four Wolves average at leas 8.6 points per game, led by Kayla Carter with 14.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
* UWG is in the middle of the GSC pack in most shooting categories, ranking sixth in FG pct. at 40.1 and seventh in FG pct. defense at 37.4. They are 11th in 3-point shooting, making just 25.3 pct. while averaging just 14.8 attempts per game.
