PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF men's soccer will play at home for the final time in the regular season Friday and Sunday. The Argos will host West Alabama on Friday in the annual homecoming game at 7:30 p.m. UWF will close the regular season home schedule with Senior Day Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
UWF men's soccer is 7-0-1 since Sept. 9 and is now 7-2-2 overall. The squad has outscored opponents 32-5 during its eight-game unbeaten streak. If the Argos rack up a pair of wins this weekend, the team will match its highest home win total (7) since 2015.
MURRAY EARNS CONFERENCE AND NATIONAL RECOGNITION
* Keeper
Jacob Murray is the United Soccer Coaches Division II Player of the Week following outstanding performances vs. Lee and Shorter this weekend. The redshirt senior was named the Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week earlier Tuesday.
* The West Palm Beach native posted eight total saves while playing close to 200 minutes in the two games. He has now been in net for four of the five shutouts the Argo defense has recorded this year.
* The Seminole Ridge High alum currently ranks second in the conference in GAA (.941). He is third in the conference and 10th nationally in save percentage (.841). He is currently fifth in the GSC with 3.89 saves per game.
* Murray will be one of seven seniors honored Sunday along with teammates
Barrett Mills,
Alik Morgan,
Kameron Bethell,
Gavin Gillies,
Sergio Otalora and
Chandler Castleman.
GSC LEADERS

Sean Hoffstatter is currently tied for the GSC lead in total goals (11) and is the outright leader in goals per game (1.10). He also leads the conference in points (25) and points per game (2.50). Hoffstatter is tied for 11th in the nation with 11 goals.

Ed Chappe is tied for sixth in the conference with five goals scored.

Rafael Godoi is tied for third in the conference with four assists.
* Godoi (2.60) and Hoffstatter (2.50) are fifth and tied for eighth respectively in the conference in shots per game.
* As a team, UWF paces the GSC with in goals per game (3.09), shots (207), shots on goal (109) and scoring margin average (2.18). The Argos are second in points (89). The team is second in the conference in assists per game (1.91) and GAA (.912). The seven goals the team scored vs. Pensacola Christian Sept. 21 are tied for the most scored in a single game in the conference this year.
ARGOS ON TOP OF THE GULF SOUTH
* UWF is currently first in the GSC with 16 points. Lee also has 16 points but also has one loss. UWF is one of two unbeaten teams in the conference right now. Spring Hill rounds out the GSC's top three with 15 points.
SCOUTING WEST ALABAMA
* The Tigers currently sit at 5-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play. The team is seventh in the conference with 10 points.
* West Alabama has just one win in its last five matches. The team lost three straight vs. Christian Brothers, Florida National, and Lander Sep. 23-Oct. 1. The Tigers managed a 1-1 draw vs. Auburn Montgomery Oct. 5 before beating Montevallo 1-0 on Oct. 7.
* UWA is known for its solid defense. The team currently ranks third in the conference in goals allowed per game (1.09). The squad is third in GAA (1.04). West Alabama is second in the conference in saves per game (5.36). The Tigers are a well-penalized team, racking up 11.09 per game, the third-highest mark in the GSC.
* Ali Brador is third in the conference in goals (7). He is seventh with 1.36 points per game. He is tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals (3). Harrison Roberts in second in assists (5) and assists per game (.455).
* Keeper Ollie Harrison is third in the GSC in save percentage (.750). He is fifth in GAA (1.34). He is seventh in saves per game (3.86).
* West Florida is 6-3-2 vs. UWA since 2012, but UWF does not have a win vs. the team since 2014. The Argos are 4-0-1 at home vs. West Alabama since 2012.
SCOUTING ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE
* UAH currently sits at 6-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play. The team is fourth in the conference with 13 points.
* The Chargers have won two of their last three matches. The squad lost 2-1 at Carson Newman Sep. 29 before rebounding for back-to-back home wins vs. Montevallo Oct. 5 and AUM Oct. 7.
* Alabama Huntsville is tied for fourth in the GSC with 2.08 goals per game. The Chargers are fifth in the GSC in shots per game (11.17) and points per game (5.42). The team is also fifth in assists per game (1.25) and goals allowed per game (1.17).
* Rafa Moreno is currently tied with UWF's
Sean Hoffstatter for the lead in the conference with 11 total goals. Moreno is sixth in the GSC in shots per game (2.58). He is third in points (1.83) and is tied for first in game-winning goals (3).
* Khalil Bell is tied for third in the conference in assists (4). He is tied for sixth in goals (5).
* Keeper Myles Fullen paces the conference with 1100 total minutes in net this year. He is fifth in the GSC in save percentage (.731) and third with three shutouts.
* UWF is 10-5-2 vs. UAH since 2005. The Argos are 7-1-1 vs. the Chargers at home in the same span.
