LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a 2-0 week, the University of West Florida volleyball team has rose up to No. 13 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, released on Monday. The Argonauts took wins over Montevallo, and Auburn Montgomery last week.
Against Montevallo, UWF hit a .230 with 42 kills on 113 attacks and 16 errors. Defensively as a team UWF had 51 digs and 9 blocks. Against Auburn Montgomery, UWF hit a .295 with 42 kills on 95 attacks and 14 errors.Defensively the team had 41 digs and 7 blocks. UWF won both matches 3-0.
This weekend the Argos will be hosting their last two home games until the end of October. UWF will face Lee on Friday, October 5th and Shorter on Saturday, October 6th. Lee is 8-9 on the season and 6-1 in conference play after going 2-0 last week. Shorter is 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference. The Hawks will play Friday at Auburn Montgomery before traveling to Pensacola on Saturday.
First serve will be at 5:00 pm for Friday's matchup against Lee in the UWF Field House. Saturday's match will begin at 1:00 pm against Shorter.
