CLEVELAND, Miss. – West Florida took care of business on Saturday afternoon, shutting out Delta State 3-0 in Cleveland, Mississippi. The win helped UWF improve to 17-0 and finish the regular season undefeated for a fifth time in program history. The other teams to achieve this accomplishment were the 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2013 Argonauts. The Argos will now turn their attention to Tuesday afternoon, where they will take on Christian Brothers University at the UWF Soccer Complex for the first round of the Gulf South Conference tournament at 3:30pm CT.

FIRST HALF: Junior Celine Rumpf gave the Argos the early lead with a strike at the top of the box in the 19th minute. This was the only goal of the half. West Florida dominated the time of possession in the first half and outshot Delta State 9-1.

SECOND HALF: Jessica Quixley increased the Argonaut lead to two, when she scored off of a rebound from the Goalkeeper's hands in the 69th minute. Senior Grace Busby put the finishing touches on the match in the 84th minute when she beat the goal keeper to the near post and scored off of a cross from Elizabeth Vickers.
