ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 15-10 on the year following a 1-2 road swing over the last 10 days. The Argos defeated AUM to open the trip before shooting woes popped up and led to losses at West Georgia and Mississippi College. The Argonauts are in a 3-way tie for sixth in the GSC at 10-8 with two games remaining in the regular season. UWF can finish anywhere from fifth to ninth in the GSC race.
* UWF is tied for third in the GSC in scoring offense at 68.5 ppg and seventh in scoring defense at 62.0 ppg.The Argonauts are shooting 39.5 percent from the floor.
* They rank fifth in the league in 3-point FG pct., making 32.0 pct and are averaging 4.8 3-pointers per game.
* UWF ranks third in the GSC in field goal percentage defense (.363) and ranking third in 3-point field goal pct. defense (.274). Those number are 38th and 11th, respectively in the NCAA.

PROJECTED STARTERS NOTES
* Junior transfer Halee Nieman leads a pair of players who average in double figures. Nieman has posted 14.9 points to rank sixth in the GSC. She leads all players in the GSC in FT made (96 - also #16 in NCAA) and FT attempts (152 - #2 in NCAA), while she is 16th with her 63 pct. conversion rate. Nieman, who played her first two years at Saginaw Valley State, enters the weekend with 834 career points and 435 rebounds. She scored a career-high and school-record 42 points in the win over Montevallo on Dec. 18, which included 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting after halftime. That scoring total was tied for the most in Division II at the time (now tied for 3rd) and tied for the 13th highest in GSC history. She also had a career-high 20 rebounds against the Falcons, which are the most in the league this year.
* Senior Shami Goodman has posted 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. She has nine games in double figures with three of at least 22 and back-to-back 18-point efforts last week vs. UWG and AUM.
* Junior Belle Bistrow is scoring 8.8 points per contest and is second on the team with 29 3-pointers. Her 1.6 3FG per game are 11th in the league.
* Senior Jade Davis averages 2.9 assists per game and is 15th in the GSC with 1.5 steals per contest.
* Senior Courtney Meyer has also been solid and is averaging 7.7 points and 11.0 rebounds to go along with 54 blocked shots for 2.6 blocks per game. She has eight double-doubles to lead the team, which also is 2nd in the GSC and 37th in the NCAA. She leads the GSC in both rebounds and blocked shots, while ranking 9th in the NCAA in rebs and 21st in blocks. She has 795 points, 879 rebounds and a UWF record 240 blocks in 113 career games.

* Senior Chloe Branch is averaging 6.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over 18.2 minutes per game. The transfer from Kennesaw State has done well recently, posting 8.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg in the last six games, while averaging 22 minutes per outing.

YELTON REACHES 100 WINS AT UWF
* UWF head coach Stephanie Lawrence Yelton reached a milestone in her UWF coaching career against Delta State last month. The sixth-year coach became the third coach in program history to reach the 100-victory mark, joining Shannan Bergen (183 victories) and Kathy Davis (175).
* She is now 105-66 at UWF and currently has a 162-150 head coaching record.

SCOUTING UNION
* Union is coming off a 102-81 win over West Alabama. Union was led by Bria Gaines with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Emily Beard posted a career high 24 points on 7-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. It was the second time Union hit the 100-point mark this season (107 vs. Fisk). Union also hit 17 3-pointers in the game, the most for Union in any GSC game this year. Union hit 19 3-pointers in two non-conference games versus Lane and Missouri S&T back in November.
* Union was ranked No. 1 in the first region rankings released Wednesday. Five GSC schools were listed in the top ten (North Alabama #2, Lee #5, Valdosta State #8, West Florida #10).
* Union has clinched at least a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the GSC Tournament. Union will host a GSC Tournament Quarterfinal Game, Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
