PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida men's soccer team will host Pensacola Christian College to close a five-game stretch at home Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Argos are looking to make it four straight wins at home for the first time since 2010, when the team won nine straight (including the GSC championship game) at the UWF Soccer Complex.
ARGOS OPEN CONFERENCE PLAY WITH A PAIR OF WINS
* UWF (3-2-1) scored wins last weekend at home vs. Union and Christian Brothers, both by scores of 4-1. After managing just two goals over the first three games of the season, the offense has broken loose, scoring four in each of the last three games.
* UWF men's soccer made it two wins in a row last Friday with a four-goal outburst vs. Union. UWF outshot Union 5-3 in the opening period. The Argos would follow that by outshooting the Bulldogs 13-9 in the closing half. UWF put 11 shots on goal vs. six for Union. Jerry Wiltshire paced the team with a goal and an assist.
* The Argos followed Sunday with another 4-1 win, this time vs. CBU. Sean Hoffstatter led the way with a hat trick scored over a less-than-12-minute period at the outset of the second half. Ed Chappe also netted an early goal.
* This is the first 2-0 start in conference play for the program since 2014, when the team also defeated Union and Christian Brothers to open the Gulf South schedule.
SCOUTING PENSACOLA CHRISTIAN
* Pensacola Christian is 0-7 so far on the 2018 campaign. The team is 0-3 at home and 0-4 on the road. The Eagles most recently fell to Faulkner University Sept. 15 6-1.
* The Eagles are paced by Nick Standridge, who has netted five goals and recorded two assists. Paul Stewart, Kendall Mullenix, and Riley Buchalski have all scored twice this season.

HOFFSTATTER HAT TRICK
* Sean Hoffstatter's hat trick was the first for UWF since 2016, when Erick Rivera netted three vs. Auburn Montgomery.
* Hoffstatter put away his three goals on just four shots and exploded for the hat trick in less than 12 minutes.
* "To see him have a breakout weekend like this, I couldn't be happier," UWF head coach Bill Elliott said of Hoffstatter's performance. "If there's anyone I'd want it to happen for, it's definitely him."
* "To come out here and score three goals, obviously I couldn't do it without my team," said Hoffstatter, who was limited by knee injuries over the first two years of his UWF career. "It feels great. I hope to keep going and score as many as I can from here."
