No. 4 UWF Visits the Heart of Dixie this Weekend

Argonauts play Auburn-Montgomery Friday & Montevallo on Sunday

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The (8-0) red hot Argos will continue their road trip this weekend as they head into conference play in the Yellowhammer State against the Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks and the Montevallo Falcons. West Florida will take on Auburn-Montgomery Friday afternoon at 4:30pm CT at the AUM Soccer Complex. Then the Argonauts will travel north to square off against Montevallo on Sunday at 1pm CT.
 
* Both contests this weekend will feature live video and live stats, which can be found at GoArgos.com or by clicking on the links above.
 
National Stat Rankings
* The Argos are taking the National Division II statistical rankings by storm this week, as they are now ranked in the top twenty in eight different team categories. They rank in the top ten in three of those categories: Scoring Offense (3.25), Total Goals Scored (26), and Total Points (70).

Updated Rankings
* West Florida jumped back up to #4 in the United Soccer Coaches poll this week. The Argos are now the leader once again in the South Region polls, moving in front of Barry University. Barry University, Mississippi College, Rollins College, and Lee University round out the top five.
* UWF and Mississippi College are the only two teams from the Gulf South Conference ranked in the top 25 United Soccer Coaches poll this week. Mississippi College is ranked #22, with a record of (5-1). The Argonauts will play against Mississippi College at the Robert P. Longabaugh Field on October 25th.
 
Player Spotlight
*Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras earned GSC Defender of the Week Honors this week. Barreras is ranked fourth nationally in Division II, and is the Gulf South Conference leader in Goals Against Average with (0.176). She is currently second in the GSC for total shutouts with three and is also ranked second in the conference in Save Percentage with .867.

Upcoming Weekend Matchups
*Auburn-Montgomery is coming off of their first victory of the season on Sunday against Shorter University by a final score of 1-0. The Warhawks are (1-3) in conference play and (1-5) overall, so far this season. West Florida has only played Auburn-Montgomery twice in their history and are (2-0) against the Warhawks, winning their only time visiting the AUM Soccer Complex.
* Montevallo is (2-2) in conference play this season and has a (3-3-2) overall record. The Falcons will be hosting Spring Hill College on Friday night before they face off against the Argos on Sunday. Montevallo is coming off of a huge overtime upset against the formerly ranked #19 Lee University Flames last Sunday. UWF is (13-3-1) overall against Montevallo and has a (6-3-1) road record at the Georgine Lemak Soccer Field.
