PENSACOLA, Fla.- The 11th ranked UWF volleyball (8-3 overall)goes undefeated in The Argo Bash with their final win against Lee University Lady Flames 3-0. The Argos also faced Harding University and Spring Hill College this weekend going 3-0 against SHC and 3-1 against HU.
The Argos took the first set 25-21. The offense was as a team still warming up, but Makila York was hot from the start. In the first set Makila hit a .714 with six kills on seven attacks and one error. Set two was a back and forth game to start and then their offense took off with Jordyn Poppen getting in the swings with 12 kills on 22 attacks with only one error hitting a .500. Argos win set two 25-19. Set three the Argos showed no mercy jumping ahead early with a seven point lead that carried their way to winning 25-11.
The Argos defense was outstanding with digs spread across the team with Logan Kael having 13 digs, Nadine Williams with 12, and Brogan Wallin with nine. The Argos also out blocked Lee 8-1. Chrisman is second in the conference in blocks with 59 total blocks, 10 solo and 49 assisted, while averaging 1.31 blocks per set.
NEXT UP:
No.11 West Florida will be on the road for the next week as they head into GSC conference play. The Argos will be facing Alabama Huntsville at Huntsville on Tuesday Sept. 11th at 5:00 pm. UWF is now 8-3 overall and are on a six game winning steak.
