After starting the first half of the season strong, the 7-1 Argonauts look to continue their early season success with weekend road contests with Gulf South Conference opponents, Lee and Shorter on Friday and Sunday afternoon.  Kickoff against the Flames is set for 4pm while the contest against the Hawks is slated for 12:30pm.

UWF is coming off a split of last weekend's games against Montevallo and Auburn Montgomery.  In Friday night's 5-1 romp over the Falcons, four different Argos scored including Yuri Parisotto, who finished with two goals on the night.  The Brazilian native scored both goals in the second half with 10 minutes of one another to allow the home team to pull away.  Sunday afternoon against the Warhawks was a much different story as UWF dropped a game for the first time in 2019 on a late goal in the second half which ultimately resulted in a 1-0 result.

About Lee: The Flames come into the match-up with a record of 6-1-2 and are currently ranked sixth in latest United Soccer Coaches Poll in the south region, just three spots below UWF.  Junior midfielder Jared McWhorter leads the team with four goals and eight points on 23 shots in nine games while senior goalkeeper Daniel Hrenko has been steady between the pipes for Lee all season with 30 saves and only six goals allowed in 830 minutes played.  All-time the Argos are 3-1-4 against the Flames.

About Shorter: The Hawks currently stand at 4-4-1 and 0-2-1 in conference with a loss in their most recent game against GSC foe, Mississippi College by a score of 1-0.  Shorter has been a juggernaut offensively scoring 7 or more goals in two contests this season.  Sophomore midfielder Jackson Wheatley has been a catalyst on offense this season with eight goals and 17 points on 19 shots this season.  Matthew Shorrocks has been solid in goal this season for Shorter with 21 saves in 701 minutes on eight starts this year.  The Argos look to continue their recent success against Shorter as they hold a 6-2-1 record all-time against the Hawks.
