West Florida Hits the Road to Take on Shorter and Lee this Weekend

Argos will Play Shorter Friday and & Lee on Sunday

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argonauts will play against Shorter in Rome, Georgia on Friday at 7pm ET and visit the Lee in Cleveland, Tennessee on Sunday at 1pm ET. Lee University dropped to #18 in the United Soccer Coaches poll this week, after losing to Mississippi College last Friday 3-1.

Player Spotlight
* Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras was named the Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week for her performances last weekend against Montevallo and Auburn-Montgomery. She didn't allow a single goal all weekend and earned her fourth shutout of the year last Friday night against Montevallo. In eight games played, she has a Save Percentage of (0.733) and a Goals Allowed Average of (0.55).

Upcoming Weekend Matchups
* Shorter is (0-8) overall and 0-3 in GSC competition, so far this season. In three conference games played they have scored a total of one goal. The Hawks' goalkeeper Emily Lopez ranks fifth in the GSC in Total Saves with 35. UWF has played Shorter eight times in program history and are a perfect (8-0) against the Hawks, with a record of 4-0 when playing at Ben Brady Field.
* Lee is (6-2) overall and 2-1 in GSC action. Their two losses were to Grand Valley State University 3-0 and Mississippi College 3-1. One of the Flames' victories came against Trevecca Nazarene by a final score of 3-0. West Florida also played Trevecca Nazarene earlier this season and defeated them 2-0. The Flames will be hosting Spring Hill on Friday night before they face off against the Argos on Sunday. UWF is (4-3-2) all-time against Lee, and is 2-1 at the Lee Soccer Field.
