Argos Set to Take on Montevallo & AUM at Home this Weekend

West Florida Hosts Montevallo on Friday & Auburn-Montgomery on Sunday

PENSACOLA, Fla. –The (4-2) Argos are coming off their first weekend of Gulf South Conference play where they allowed one goal and seven total shots all weekend. Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras has three shutouts this season and ranks fourth in GSC in Goals Against Average (0.69). The Argonauts face Montevallo on Friday at 7:30 pm at the UWF Soccer Complex to kick off homecoming festivities for the University of West Florida. Then on Sunday UWF will host Auburn-Montgomery at 3:00pm CT.

Upcoming Weekend Matchups
* Montevallo is (4-1-2) overall and is currently on a four-game winning streak, defeating Valdosta State 2-1 and West Georgia 1-0 on the road to begin their GSC play this season. Their only loss came to division one opponent Louisiana Tech by a final score of 3-1. Sophomore Goalkeeper Annie Mason has already earned the GSC Defender of the Week Award twice this season. West Florida has played Montevallo 19 times in program history and are (15-3-1) against the Falcons, with a record of 6-0 when hosting them at the UWF Soccer Complex.
* Auburn-Montgomery is (0-6) overall and has allowed at least three goals in every game this season. Senior Forward Ruby Mendez ranks second in the GSC in Average Shots Per Game (4.80).  The Warhawks will be visiting Spring Hill on Friday night before they face off against the Argos on Sunday. The Argonauts are (3-0) all-time against Auburn-Montgomery, and are 1-0 at the UWF Soccer Complex.
