Pensacola, Fla.- The 21st ranked West Florida men's soccer team seeks its sixth Gulf South Conference win of the year when they take on Spring Hill College Friday night at the UWF Soccer Complex on the campus of UWF.
A win over the Badgers would keep the blue and white at the top of the GSC standings as they are currently tied with Mississippi College for first with 17 points.
The Argonauts (10-2-1, 5-2-1 in the GSC) are coming off their largest win over the season on Monday when they defeated Pensacola Christian by a final of 10-0. Nine different Argos scored including redshirt senior forward
Sean Hoffstatter who collected his team-leading sixth goal of the season, forward
Teavon Spencer who picked up his fifth, and freshman sensation
Davi Alves, who collected his third goal of the season to lead all freshman scorers. The only player to score twice was
Mathias Ferraz, who came off the bench to score his first two goals of the season.
About SHC: The Badgers come into the game as winners of their last four matches and have improved their record to 6-6 and 4-4 in the conference, putting them in the fifth position. Senior forward Alex Lipinski drives the offense as he has six goals and 17 points this season. The German native also leads the GSC in shots (45) and shots on goal with 30. Sophomore Alessandro Erdelyi has the played the majority of the minutes in goal this year. The Turin, Italy native has 43 saves and a GAA of 1.53.
