Argos Face West Alabama in Opening Round of GSC Tournament

UWF Starts GSC Tournament on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida will travel to Livingston, Alabama on Tuesday to take on West Alabama for their first round matchup in the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The match has been moved to a 1:30pm CT start time. These two teams have already played this season with the Argos losing the match by a final score of 4-3, despite leading at halftime 2-1 at Tiger Stadium.
 
The Tigers are 12-4-1 overall, and 10-2-1 in conference play this season. They are coming off two straight shutout victories at Shorter 6-0 and Alabama-Huntsville 3-0 to close out the regular season. The Tigers' player to watch in this matchup is TeMia Pride. Pride ranks third in the GSC in both Total Goals Scored (11), and Average Goals Per Game (.647). She scored two goals against the Argos, when these two teams faced each other on October 20th.
 
The winner of this match will face the winner of #2 Montevallo and #7 Christian Brothers on Friday in Pensacola, Florida. UWF defeated Montevallo 1-0 and lost to Christian Brothers 1-0 earlier this season.
