ABOUT UWF
• UWF enters the game at 7-2 overall and 6-1 in Gulf South Conference play. The Argonauts have established school records for home wins (4), longest winning streak (7) and best start this season. They can complete a perfect home season with a win tonight.
• The Argo offense is averaging 385 yards per game which ranks fifth in the GSC and 68th nationally. The 236.7 passing yards per game is fourth in the league and 52nd in the country.
• Not to be outdone, the UWF defense has been lights out all season and ranks 27th in the NCAA, allowing 293.3 yards per game. The scoring defense of 12.7 points per game is third nationally. The Argos are second in the country in red zone defense, sixth in fewest passing yards allowed and seventh in fumbles recovered with 12. The UWF defense has forced a at least one turnover in every game this season and in 42 of the 46 games in program history
• On special teams, UWF is second nationally in net punting - after ranking 12th in the country in 2018 - and 17th in punt return defense. They average 7.5 yards per punt return and 22.3 yards per kickoff return. Sophomore Dawson Hamlin was named the GSC Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.
• UWF is 4-0 at Blue Wahoos Stadium in 2019 and looking for the first undefeated home schedule in school history. The Argonauts have averaged 5,220 fans this year to lead the GSC and rank 23rd in the country.
ABOUT WEST ALABAMA
• West Alabama is 6-4 on the season and has won its last two games - at Florida Tech and last week at home against Mississippi College. The win over the Choctaws marked just the third time in UWA football history that the Tigers have had five consecutive winning seasons (1971-75 & 2009-13).
• UWA ranks second in the league with 396 yards of total offense and is third with 28.6 points per game. They lead the league with 264.5 passing yards per game while using a pair of quarterbacks in Jack McDaniels and Jacob Murphree.
• The Tiger defense ranks sixth in the GSC, allowing 366 yards per game. Their rushing defense is fifth at 161, just behind UWF's 147.3 mark. UWA's Zach Gaines and UWF's Dawson Hamlin are tied for the GSC lead in punting average at 44.7 yards per kick.
SERIES HISTORY
• UWA has won all three regular-season meetings between the teams since 2016, but UWF claimed the lone postseason matchup two years ago in Livingston. The Tigers have scored at least 35 points in their three victories.
UWF ENTERS FINAL WEEK AT NO. 6 IN NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
• The 22nd-ranked UWF football team is ranked sixth in the most recent NCAA Super Region 2 ranking entering the final game of the regular season. The Argonauts may be in a must-win situation today to guarantee a second postseason appearance in the last three years. • Today's game marks the final regular-season home game for 25 UWF seniors. While every Senior Day is special for a student-athlete, today's is extra special for 14 Argonauts who have been part of all four teams in UWF program history - Ty Cox, Ethan Cruz, Andre Duncombe, Jr., Devin Gibson, Kevin Grant, Ed Kinnon, Gage Krull, Tate Lehtio, Stephen Mathews, Quentin Randolph, Jerel Ricketts, Chris Sakamoto, Josh Smiley and Darryl Wilson.
